Teacup puppies are sensitive. Having everything set up before your puppy arrives makes the transition dramatically smoother — for both of you. This is exactly what we recommend based on years of experience placing puppies in homes around the world.
Housing & Space
Small playpen (not a crate)
Playpens give your puppy space to move, eat, and rest in one safe area. Avoid locking tiny puppies in crates.
Soft bedding or blanket
Something warm and cozy. Puppies from Korea are used to sleeping on soft padding.
Pee pads
Line the playpen floor. Your puppy will already be partially pad-trained on arrival.
Food & Nutrition
Royal Canin X-Small Puppy (dry)
We recommend starting with this. It matches what they've been eating. Transition slowly to any new brand over 2–3 weeks.
Royal Canin Mini Starter Mousse (wet)
For picky eaters or the first few days when your puppy is adjusting and may not eat well.
Nutri-Cal supplement
Critical for teacup breeds. Apply a small amount to the gums every 4–6 hours for the first week to prevent hypoglycemia.
Bottled or filtered water
Avoid tap water for the first month. The change in water chemistry can cause stomach upset.
Health Essentials
Small, shallow food and water bowls
Tiny puppies can't drink from deep bowls. Get the shallowest option you can find.
Puppy-safe humidifier
Korean winters are dry. Maintaining humidity helps prevent respiratory issues in small breeds.
Digital thermometer
Teacup puppies are sensitive to temperature. Keep their space between 22–26°C (72–79°F).
Accessories
Harness (not collar)
Collars can injure tiny necks. Use a lightweight harness for any outdoor time from day one.
ID tag
Engrave your phone number. Even if your puppy never goes outside unsupervised, accidents happen.
Small carrier bag
For vet visits and outings. Get one your puppy can grow comfortable in before they need to use it.
The Most Important Thing
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is the number one health risk for teacup puppies in their first weeks. Feed your puppy every 3–4 hours without fail, keep Nutri-Cal on hand, and monitor for signs: lethargy, wobbly walking, glazed eyes. If in doubt, apply Nutri-Cal to their gums and call a vet immediately.
We're always available on WhatsApp after your puppy arrives. If you have any questions about feeding, behaviour, or health in the first weeks — just message us.
