Warning Signs of a Puppy Scam
The online puppy market is unfortunately full of fraud. Scammers steal photos of real puppies — sometimes ours — and use them to collect deposits from buyers who never receive an animal. Here's what to watch for:
Prices that seem too good to be true
Authentic teacup puppies from licensed Korean breeders cost significantly more than $1,000–$2,000. Anyone offering these prices is either running a scam or selling an unhealthy animal.
Requests for payment via gift cards
We never ask for payment via gift cards of any kind. This is a common scam tactic with no buyer protection. Our accepted payment methods are listed on the How to Buy page.
Listings on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or classifieds
We do not list puppies on any third-party marketplace. If you see our puppy photos there, they have been stolen. Only trust our official website.
Accounts impersonating us on social media
Scammers create fake Instagram and WhatsApp accounts using our puppy photos. If you are unsure whether you are speaking with us, request a live video call. We are always happy to verify our identity on camera before any purchase decision is made.
Promises of immediate delivery
Legitimate international puppy shipping requires veterinary clearance, health certificates, and airline coordination. Anyone promising delivery within a few days is not legitimate.
How to Verify You're Talking to Us
- ✓Message us directly at +82 10 5552 3090 on WhatsApp — not a number you found elsewhere.
- ✓Check that our website URL is exactly www.miniteacuppuppy.com with no variations.
- ✓Request a live video of the puppy with a piece of paper showing today's date.
- ✓Never send money before seeing a live video and receiving our official purchase contract.
- ✓If something feels off — it probably is. Trust your instincts and contact us to verify.
If You've Been Targeted
If you believe you've encountered a scam using our name or photos, please contact us immediately so we can document and report it. You should also report the fraud to your local consumer protection agency and, for US residents, to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.
